What is recorded here

In level but dense hazel woodland. Hachured on both the first (1842) and Cassini (1920) editions of the OS 6-inch map, and labelled ‘Cahermore’ on the latter. This densely overgrown and poorly preserved subcircular cashel (int. diam. 24.8m N-S; ext. diam. 37m N-S) is defined by a wide spread of wall collapse (Wth 5-7.5m; H 0.5-0.8m). From WSW-NW-NNE, a later drystone wall – the townland boundary between Killeen [Killinaboy Parish, Corrofin Electoral Division] and Coad - overlies the cashel wall. The interior contains is a house of indeterminate date (CL017-075002-) at centre. A second cashel (CL017-074----) also stands on the same townland boundary, c. 100m to the SSW.
