The northern one of two graveslabs situated at the E end of a church (CL017-066001-). This flat graveslab is now illegible but Macnamara (1896, 230) recorded the following inscription: ‘Here leyth the body of Ellinor Creagh, weife to Dominic Power who departed this life on the 15th of December 1673. His son Edward Power who departed April 22 1682.’ Macnamara (1901, 360) considered this to be one of the few 17th-century graves in County Clare for which there is documentary evidence, and quoted (1901, 360) a surviving document showing that Dominic Power received permission to build this tomb from the Earl of Inchiquin. There is a second 17th-century graveslab (CL017-066005-) immediately to the S. The location of these two graveslabs on the site of the altar suggests that the church was no longer in regular use by the middle of the 17th century.
