On a gentle S-facing slope in marshy gorse-covered pasture on the N shore of Lough Fergus, which has been partially drained. Named ‘Carns’ on the 1916 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘potential site-name’ in the RMP (1996). No visible surface traces of any cairns survive. Some spreads of boulders hidden among the gorse and bramble appeared natural. According to local information, cairns were knocked down years ago and are now all overgrown. A ‘chair’ on top of one them was supposed to be a cure for lumbago. See also CL016-076----.
