In pasture on a hilltop with good views, especially to the S, c. 45m SE of a stream. Hachured on the 1840 and 1916 OS 6-inch maps and known locally as the site of a fort. An enclosure (diam. c. 25m) defined by a series of stone and earth banks (Wth 3-4m; H 0.2m), some forming a rough C shape. Along the S and W of the monument are low piles of field clearance rubble. The interior is slightly lower in the centre.
