What is recorded here

In damp coarse pasture near the top of a low E-facing slope with clear views to the S. Hachured on the 1840 and 1916 eds. OS 6-inch maps. A subcircular rath (31.5m N-S; 30m E-W) defined by a flat-topped earth and stone bank (ext. H 0.35-1m; Wth 2.2-3.6m) and a fosse (Wth 2.4m; D 0.2-0.25m). A gap (Wth 4.6m) at the E may indicate the original entrance. A line of facing stones (L 1m) at the SW of the external bank suggests an original external stone revetment. The interior slopes down gently to the E and has a dense covering of rushes. Compiled by: Mary Tunney and Eve Campbell Date of upload: 21 September 2022
