Indicated — Fahee North

On a SW-facing terrace on the W slope of a semi-karst hill in rough pasture and within an extensive field system (CL006-164----) covering much of Fahee North and offering wide views from SSE to NW. Indicated on the 1897 OS 25-inch plan and the 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. This subcircular cashel (20m E-W; 18m N-S) is defined by a stone wall (Wth 1.8m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.4-0.7m) with facings of well-worked stones set on edge, which survive intermittently. There are some larger blocks in the wall at E-SE. There is a modern gap through the wall at the NW, with a modern animal pen immediately to the S within the generally flat interior. A later wall is built over the cashel wall around most of its circuit. This later wall extends into the SW of the cashel interior. Whitethorn trees grow along the W side of the cashel perimeter.
