On uneven ground covered in hazel and blackthorn, with some land recently cleared and in pasture. Identified by Tom Coffey (1996, SMR file) who noted an ‘Ancient house?’ at ING c. 12957, 19439 (ITM 529535, 694425) and listed in the RMP (1996) as 'Hut site, possible'. On inspection in 1999 no remains were found at that location or in the vicinity. It would appear that in this instance the locational information provided was incorrect due to a transfer from small to large scale mapping.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
