What is recorded here

On a high (between the 500’ and 600’ contours) level area on the N shoulder of a ridge in mixed exposed limestone pavement and rough grazing. Listed as ‘Cemetery cairn’ in the RMP (1996), on the basis of a map annotation by Tom Coffey (1994) and subsequently described as ‘Cairn with exposed slab of chamber/cist’ (pers. comm. P. Walsh, 11-6-1996; SMR file). This well-preserved subcircular cairn (diam. 10m; H 0.9-1.5m) is covered by grass around its lower edge. A possible ‘chamber/cist’ was not visible on inspection in 1999.
