Not listed in the RMP (1996) but listed as ‘Cashel’ in the earlier SMR (1992) on the basis of a description by Philip Dwyer, originally published in 1876 (Ó Céirín 1998): ‘two uninjured cahers … near the curious late church’ [CL010-011----] in Sladoo townland. Westropp (1898, 361) and his colleague Dr George MacNamara found no evidence (physical or oral) for these cahers and also commented that Dwyer’s description of the church in question (CL010-011----) was highly inaccurate. No cahers were found in the vicinity during an inspection in 1999.
