What is recorded here

In undulating pastureland c. 50m to the W of Carran Turlough. Indicated and labelled ‘Burial Ground for Children’ on the 1842 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and labelled ‘Children’s Burial Ground (Disused)’ on the 1897 OS 25-inch plan and the 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Burial ground’ in the RMP (1996). This roughly square-shaped children’s burial ground (c. 12m N-S; c. 12m E-W) comprises a cluster of rough irregular graves with small uninscribed grave-marker stones (max. H 0.15m). There are also some loose field-clearance stones in places, especially at the S. There is a natural subcircular hollow at the N. Castletown tower house (CL010-066002-) lies c. 110m to the SE.
