What is recorded here

On level, wooded ground with limited aspect, and with S-sloping land to the S. Indicated on the first edition (1842) and hachured on the later, Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map. This subcircular enclosure (int. dims. 21m N-S; 19m E-W) is defined by a bank of earth and stone NNW-E-WSW (Wth 1.8-4.5m; int. H 0.4-1m; max. ext. H 1m) and by stone walling WSW-NNW (Wth 5m; int. H 1.4m; est. ext. H 0.1m). A gap (Wth 1.2m) at SSW does not appear to be original. A later collapsed wall overlies the enclosing bank in places. The interior is slightly bowl-shaped. At N, a later field wall (H 0.6-1.4m) runs E-W and may be founder on the earlier enclosure wall line. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy and Conn Herriott Date of upload: 8 February 2023
