What is recorded here

On a rise in the floor of Eanty Valley, in pasture with a cliff ascending c. 24m to the S. This small subrectangular area (13.5m NW-SE; 12.2m NE-SW) comprises three parallel lazy bed-like linear ridges (Wth 2-5m) oriented NW-SE, with spaces (0.5-0.7m) between them. There are slight banks (Wth 0.8-2m; H 0.2-0.3m) on the NE and SW sides, with fainter remains of another at the SE. It appears that the ridges were truncated on the SE and NW. Some field stones are found in the interior but there are no grave markers. The landowners believe this to be a burial ground. Compiled by: Mary Tunney and Conn Herriott Date of upload: 6 July 2022
