What is recorded here

On a flat-topped knoll of rock outcrop, covered in trees and bushes and rising c. 2-4m from the undulating floor of a small circular valley in reclaimed pasture. Hachured on the 1842 and 1920 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. This hazel-covered suboval cashel (ext. dims. 27m NW-SE; 22m NE-SW) is defined by a stone spread (Wth 2.2-2.7m; ext. H 1.4-1.6m), except in the E sector. The external wall-face, constructed of horizontally laid stones, is visible and in places is overlain by a later drystone wall. The E sector is defied by a single boulder wall, which may be a later feature. The outcropping rock in the interior rises c. 1m above the stone spread.
