In rough pasture and hazel with a turlough or hollow to S and SE, and with limited views. Indicated on the OS 25-inch plan (1897) and hachured on the 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). This circular cashel (29.5m N-S; 29.1m E-W) is defined by a stone wall (Wth c. 3m; int. H c. 0.4-0.8m; ext. H c. 0.6-1.5m), the outer face of which is traceable all around. The lower part of the outer wall-face (especially at E-SW) and the entire inner wall-face are covered by stone spill (total Wth 6-7m; H 0.3-1.1m). The outer wall-face is rebuilt at W-E. A grass-covered curvilinear bank (max. H 0.7m; Wth 0.4m) meanders down the centre of the N-S sloping interior, splitting into two near the S perimeter. This appears to be a field-wall that post-dates the occupation of the cashel.
