What is recorded here

Situated in an E-W valley that crosses a N-S ridge within a very extensive field system (CL009-059001-) spanning several townlands. Overlooked by a rectangular cashel (CL009-059-045-) c. 45m to the SE. Listed as ‘Hut site’ in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). On inspection in 1997 this was found to be a subrectangular enclosure (int. dims. 10.9m E-W; c. 13.3m N-S) defined by a stone wall (Wth 0.6-1m; int. H 0.8-1.2m; ext. H 0.4-0.7m) with some stone facing and a stone spread (Wth 2.5-4m) at base. A drystone wall is built on the perimeter at E. A curve at the SE corner comprises some possible clearance material.
