On a knoll in undulating pastureland, within a large multiperiod field system (CL005-160001-). The land slopes all around and views are limited from SE to W. Hachured on the 1842 and 1920 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Rectangular enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). This subcircular cashel (int. dims. 41.3m N–S; 36.3m E–W) is defined by the grass-covered spread (Wth 3.4–4.8m; H 0.4–0.6m) of a collapsed stone wall. A later drystone wall has been built along its perimeter from SE to W and field walls abut it at NE, SSE, S, SSW and NW. The remains of a number of old field walls, defined by grass-covered linear stony mounds (Wth 1–2m; H 0.2–0.5m) are visible within the interior. An enclosure (CL009-053006--) lies c. 115 to the NNE.
