What is recorded here

In rough pasture within a multiperiod field system (CL009-032001-), c. 50m from NE edge of a plateau overlooking Kilcorney Valley, but with limited views. This well-preserved rectangular structure (ext. dims. L 10m E–W; Wth 4.5m N–S; int. dims. L 8.3m E–W; Wth 3.4m N–S) is defined by the footings of double-faced walls (Wth 0.6–0.7m; H 0.4m). The inner and outer wall-faces are built of stone slabs (max. L 1.2m; T 0.1m; av. H 0.4m; max. H 0.7m), with a core of loose stones now covered by grass. At NW, the outer wall-face is covered by a later drystone field wall. The E parts of the N and S sidewalls have been removed leaving gaps (Wth 3.35m) in the N wall and (Wth 2.8m) in the S wall.   Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy and Conn Herriott   Date of upload: 30-9-2025
