What is recorded here

At the E edge of a N–S ridge on a plateau, in rough pasture and hazel within a relict field system (CL009-022001-). Indicated on the OS 25-inch plan (1897) and the 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). A subcircular area (19.3m E–W; 16.9m N–S) defined by a moss-covered double-faced wall (Wth 1.5–1.7m; max. int. H 0.2m; max. ext. H c. 0.8m) which is mostly obscured by rubble banked against both wall faces (total Wth 3–4.5m). The clearly defined entrance (Wth 1.25m) is at the E. A poorly preserved drystone wall (max. H 0.8m) is built over the cashel perimeter, except at the W where the wall’s course deviates (L c. 5m) into the cashel interior. Another cashel (CL009-022004-) lies c. 25m to the SW.
