On a SW-facing slope on a gently undulating karst plateau in rough pasture, within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-001001-). Based on its location, this is probably the cashel described by Westropp (1915, 49) as ‘a small house ring, its wall coarsely built, and now barely a yard high, on a knoll of crag’. The cashel (int. dims. 21.5m N–S; 19.1m), subcircular in plan, is defined by a stone spread (Wth 1.7-3m), which is visible at the base of a now mostly collapsed low drystone wall (Wth 0.4-0.8m; H 0.4-.06m). Traces of the inner and outer wall-facing of the cashel survive at E where the original width of the wall is 1.6m.
