What is recorded here

On an elevated plateau of undulating rough pasture and karst limestone, on ground sloping slightly down to the S, within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-001001-). A subcircular cashel (int. dims. 28.5m NW–SE; 27.7m NE–SW) defined by a low grass-covered stone wall (Wth c. 1.5–2.5m; H 0.4–0.5m). The original width of the wall (0.9–1.2m) is evident at N. Outer wall-facing survives at NNE and from S to W. Gaps at N (Wth 2m) and S (Wth 4.6m) are later features. A field boundary cuts across the interior from SE to W. Other field boundaries abut the wall at NNE, E, SSW and NW. There is a small house (CL009-001042-) c. 17m to the ENE. Other cashels lie c. 140m to the NNW (CL009-001002-) and c. 160m to the SW (CL008-045016-). Compiled by: Conn Herriott and Olive Alcock Date of upload: 12 October 2021
