What is recorded here

On a SE-facing slope in undulating rough pastureland and outcropping karstic limestone, within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL009-001001-). This subrectangular cashel (18.6m E-W; 17.6m N-S) is defined by a wall (av. Wth 1m; int. H 0.35m; ext. H 0.65m) of upright limestone slabs and loose boulders; no clear wall-facing is evident. Several gaps and breaks occur in the wall but the entrance is not obvious. Within the E half of the interior two internal divisions are visible: one to the N is a squared-off area (8.6m E-W; 8.6m N-S) defined a collapsed and grass-covered wall. The other, to its S, is a smaller rectangular area. The following image has been uploaded: CL008-045015-.jpg View from S Compiled by: Olive Alcock and Conn Herriott Date of upload: 17 October 2022
