To the N, E and W of the towerhouse of Cappagh (CL006-064003-), on a low rocky knoll surrounded to S, W and N by rough outcropping rock. Indicated on the 1842 ed. of the OS 6-inch maps and hachured on the 1915 ed. Listed as ‘Earthwork’ in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996).
The bawn wall is almost completely gone and obscured by collapsed rubble. Occasional inner and outer facing-stones give a wall thickness of 1m. Vestiges of earthworks to the S may also be contemporary (Ua Cróinín and Breen 1997).
