What is recorded here

Just N of a limestone scarp on a plateau at the head of the Cappaghmore to Carron valley and within an extensive field system (CL006-042001-). Described by Carey (1999, 122) as an oval area (c. 10m N-S; c. 7m E-W) defined by two curving mound walls that do not meet at either N or S. The walls (H 0.2m; Wth 0.5m) survive as faint traces under grass. At S the western wall straightens and continues SSW for 5m towards the edge of the limestone scarp. A wedge tomb (CL006-042009-) lies c. 100m to the NW. Mound walls are evident c. 120m to the N. Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 14 September 2021
