Listed as ‘Cashel' in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996) and indicated as an enclosure on the OS 1st ed. OS 6-inch map. It is unclear whether a possible 'caher' mentioned by Westropp (1899, 372) refers to this monument. On inspection in 1999 this was found to be a subcircular enclosure (diam. c. 34m) defined by an apparently modern wall with loose and leaning stones. The interior is highest at the centre, sloping to the E and SE.
