Described by Westropp (1901, 284) as the, ‘foundation of an oval caher … in a grassy field east of Cahermore’ (CL005-094002-), but now overgrown with hazel scrub, with the ground falling steeply away to E. Indicated on the first edition (1842) and hachured on the later, Cassini edition (1916) of the OS 6-inch map.
A moderately well-preserved subcircular enclosure (int. diams 26m E-W; 22m N-S) is defined by a broad bank of earth and stone (Wth 3-6m; H 0.8-1.1m) with a gap (Wth 3.6m) at WSW that may be the original entrance. A later field boundary wall overlies the enclosing element NW-E-SE.
