A number of irregular fields were noted on an oblique black and white Cambridge aerial photograph (CUCAP BDM071; https://www.cambridgeairphotos.com/location/bdm071/) taken in 1970 immediately N of a set of later more regular fields. The irregular fields are at the N extent of a much larger field system (CL005-123002--) extending 3km S from just E of Corkscrew Hill as far S as Poulnbrone. Field systems with prehistoric and medieval elements extend over most of the Burren uplands. Those currently visible on aerial or satellite imagery are outlined for mapping purposes but it is likely that they continue under scrub in certain areas.
