What is recorded here

On the N-facing rocky slopes of a steep ridge under scrub, at a juncture of open karst and reclaimed pasture. Nearby, to the E, a mountain streamlet flows N. Indicated as a rectangular enclosure on the 1842 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and hachured as a circular feature on the 1916 ed. It is likely to be one of the ‘three levelled cahers’ mentioned along with Cahermoyle (CL005-056----) by Westropp (1901, 280). Inspection in 1999 did not identify any above ground trace.
