What is recorded here

Situated on flat ground at the NW edge of a turlough. Listed as 'Earthwork' in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). On inspection in 1998 this was found to be a canal aquaduct faced on both sides with stonework. The main section extends for 245m in N-S direction. Beyond this to the N it becomes more of a drain and curves to the E until it meets the road. At S it is very overgrown. It may have been constructed to drain water from damp ground across the road to the E. Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 19 January 2016
