Under hazel overgrowth, near the SW foot of Cappanawalla Hill, with views from S-NW over the valley floor and Rathborney River. Indicated on the 1842 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and hachured on the 1916 ed. It may be one of two forts described by Westropp (1901, 277) as ‘two greatly defaced forts’. Listed as a cashel in the RMP (1996). A very overgrown and largely inaccessible circular ringfort (diam. c. 25m [from map]) defined by a bank of earth and stone from E-SE (Wth 4-5m; H 0.4-1m) with some internal facing (H 0.3m) evident at E, and a low narrow bank covered by brambles and branches from SW-NW. Where clearest, at W, the interior is generally flat.
