On level ground on the W-facing slopes of a ridge with commanding views from SW to N and within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL004-016001-). Indicated on the 1840 OS 6-inch map and depicted with an oval enclosure in the SW corner on the 1915 ed. Listed as ‘enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). A roughly circular cashel (23m N-S; 20m E-W) defined by a poorly preserved wall which is level with the interior. The cashel wall is visible in the N (T 0.85-1m) and S (ext. H 0.5m) and the inner face of the wall (H 0.4m) at the E and S is occasionally visible. A later, oval enclosure abuts the interior perimeter of the cashel wall in the SW quadrant (L 11m N-S; Wth 7m E-W; T 0.7m; H 0.8m).
