What is recorded here

On the NW slope of a gentle ridge, in good pasture, with good views from the W–N. Hachured on the 1842 and 1915 eds. of the OS 6-inch maps. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). A poorly preserved roughly circular cashel (int. dims 29.7m N–S; 21.8m E–W; ext. dims 33.8m N–S; 31.6 E–W) defined by a stony bank (Wth 1.5–2.1m) with outer facing surviving best from S–N (max. H 0.7m). There is no evidence of an original entrance. A bank extending W from NW may be part of a contemporary field system (CL004-102----). A later field wall runs on the edge from NE–SSE and there is a modern pen on the NE–ENE edge. Compiled by: Mary Tunney and Ros Ó Maoldúin Date of upload: 17 February 2021
