What is recorded here

Situated on the upper E-facing crest of Cappanawalla. Listed as ‘Rectangular enclosure’ in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). A possible enclosure was visible on an Air Corps aerial photograph (V247/84) taken in 1957. On inspection in 1997 a rectangular enclosure (22m N-S; 19m E-W) was found, defined by collapsed walling formed of single flags set on edge. This is likely to be post-AD 1700.
