What is recorded here

On a small, narrow relatively level area with thin soil cover at the N foot of a moderately steep N facing rock strewn terrace. Listed as ‘Fulacht fia’ in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). An OS 6-inch map set annotated by T. Coffey reads ‘Small amount of burnt stone. Site of destroyed fulacht fia’ at this location (SMR file). On inspection in 1997 there were no visible remains. A 19th-century gothic well-house (CL002-010001-) surrounds a natural spring c. 20m to the N. Compiled by: Mary Tunney and Ros Ó Maoldúin Date of upload: 2 December 2020
