Detached three-bay single-storey gate lodge, occupied 1901, on a T-shaped plan centred on single-bay single-storey gabled projecting open porch. Renovated. Hipped slate roof on a T-shaped plan centred on pitched (gabled) slate roof on chamfered timber posts, perforated crested terracotta ridge tiles centred on rendered chimney stack having rounded capping supporting terracotta tapered pots, chevron- or saw tooth-detailed timber bargeboards to gable, and replacement plastic rainwater goods on decorative timber eaves boards on exposed timber rafters retaining cast-iron downpipes. Rendered walls bellcast over rendered plinth. Square-headed central door opening with tessellated terracotta tiled threshold, and concealed dressings framing timber boarded or tongue-and-groove timber panelled door. Square-headed flanking window openings in camber-headed recesses with cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing replacement uPVC casement windows. Set back from line of road at entrance to grounds of Knocklinn
