Attached five-bay three-storey constabulary barracks, built 1838, front facade projecting slightly forward of neighbouring buildings, and having central three-bay breakfront with segmental-arched throughway to ground floor, single-bay three-storey triangular-plan flat-roof addition to east end of front elevation, and two-storey return to west. Now in use as Garda offices. Pitched slate roofs, with wood-core lead ridge cappings to main roof, and blue/black clay angle ridge tiles to return roof. Rendered and brick chimneystacks with yellow clay pots, and having half-round cast-iron gutters on painted timber fascias to south elevation and return. Front elevation has channelled rustication to ground floor, painted smooth render to upper floors and to west gable, and bracketed eaves cornice with lead-capped blocking course. Red brick walling to single-bay addition, Flemish bond yellow brick walling to south elevation, and painted brick walling to return. Square-headed window openings, with granite sills, granite voussoirs to ground floor front, rubbed brick voussoirs to rear, and having timber sliding sash windows, six-over-six pane to ground and first floors and three-over-six pane to top floor, with metal grille to window to east of archway. Granite aedicule above archway, containing tripartite window having timber sliding sash window of six-over-six pane with two-over-two pane sidelights. Archway has recessed jambs, timber double-leaf gate to front and mild-steel double-leaf gate to rear. Square-headed doorway to east end of front elevation with timber four-panel door and three-pane overlight. Granite slab pavement to front, and brick-paved yard to rear.
