What is recorded here

Ornamental canal, created c. 1730, 207.5m long and 7.5m wide, running east-west to south of Woodlands House. Second, shorter canal 67m long and 8.8m wide, running north-south to north of larger canal and c.8m apart and connected by channel 8m long and 1.6m wide. By time of OS map of c. 1937 shorter canal not marked. Site overgrown with vegetation and woodland.
