Freestanding three-stage granite classical funerary monument, erected 1864 to mark burial place of Barton family. Comprises stepped rectangular base, upper part moulded, supporting tall pedestal with breakfront panels to each face with banded vermiculated rustication and studded frieze beneath moulded cornice; north face has recessed marble inscription panel; upper part of monument comprises tapered plinth with recessed panels to each face, supporting unembellished Celtic cross with central stud to each face of ring, on base with scrolled brackets to each face. Set in Glasnevin Cemetery to east of O'Connell Monument.
