Legacurry House — Tirnaneill

Detached three-bay three-storey house, built c.1850, having entrance to first floor level to front and single-storey porch to south side elevation. Hipped slate roof with terracotta ridge tiles, yellow brick chimneystacks, timber eaves course, exposed roof timbers forming bracket course, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Gablet to dormer window to south elevation. Roughcast rendered walls. Square-headed window openings having painted masonry sills and timber sliding sash windows, two-over-two pane to second floor, margined six-over-six to lower floors to front, three-over-six to first floor to north, and timber casement windows to rear and side elevations. Round-headed two-over-two pane timber sliding sash window to dormer with plain fanlight. Steel railings to windows to ground floor. Square-headed main door opening having moulded render reveal, timber panelled door with timber panelled stall risers, over-lights and sidelights, opening on to rendered masonry platform having seventeen nosed granite steps flanked by cast-iron scrollwork decorative railings on rendered plinth walls with segmental-headed arch to walkway beneath. Square-headed door opening to porch to south with double-leaf glazed timber door, approached by eleven rendered steps. Eight-bay outbuilding to north of house, with two-bay outbuilding attached at right angle, having hipped slate roof with cast-iron rainwater goods to main building and pitched slate to smaller, roughcast rendered walls, square-headed window openings with limestone sills and timber sliding sash windows, some two-over-two pane and some six-over-six pane, square-headed timber battened doors, three-centred-arch door openings with double-leaf timber battened doors, one with exposed red brick voussoirs and surrounds. Rubble limestone wall enclosing yard, having pair of square-plan piers with render capping. Pair of cast-iron banded piers with double-leaf cast-iron gates to south-east of house.
