Detached three-bay dormered single-storey former station master's house, built c.1858, with single-storey porch to centre of front elevation, and single-storey addition to south gable. Pitched slate roof with red brick chimneystacks and with carved timber fascia and bargeboards to gables and front dormer window in form of projecting trusses. Smooth rendered ruled-and-lined walls. Timber sliding sash windows, mainly camber-arch two-over-two pane with red brick voussoirs in header bond, and round-headed three-over-three pane window to front dormer with brick-effect voussoirs and jambs in paint, all with painted sandstone sills. Rear elevation has paired narrow one-over-one pane windows. Square-headed replacement timber door to porch.
