Ballymote Garda Síochána Station — Lord Edward Street

Attached three-bay two-storey rendered former bank, built c. 1930, now in use as Garda Station. Hipped slate roof set behind parapet, clay ridge and hip tiles, painted smooth-rendered corbelled chimneystack. Painted smooth-rendered walling, smooth-rendered parapet stepping up at centre, plain frieze interrupted by vertically-reeded panels and separated from parapet above and walling below by horizontal channeled joints, blank smooth-rendered oblong fascia above ground floor windows on paired stylised square corbels, projecting plinth. Square-headed window openings, tripartite window to centre of ground floor, double projecting render surround to central first floor window, painted masonry sills, uPVC casement windows to first floor and side (south) elevation, painted timber casement windows to ground floor front elevation, geometric wrought-iron guards to ground floor windows. Square-headed door opening, rectangular overlight with geometric style grille, hardwood double doors each with three raised-and-fielded panels, vertically-reeded render panel between top of door and overlight. Black and white floor tiling to lobby. Street fronted, buildings of varying heights stepping down street to north, detached two-storey property to south.
