Fisherman's Hall — Dock Road

Detached five-bay single-storey hall, c.1850, on a cruciform plan with single-bay single-storey gabled higher projecting bays to west and to east having single-bay single-storey flat-roofed lower flanking porches to west, and single-bay single-storey canted elevation to south. Renovated and extended, c.1975, comprising single-bay single-storey flat-roofed lower projecting bays to east. Now in part use as library. Pitched slate roofs (polygonal to canted elevation) with red clay ridge tiles, iron vent to ridge, terracotta finials, rendered chimney stacks, timber bargeboards (having spoked detailing to gables), and iron rainwater goods on timber eaves. Flat bitumen felt roofs to porches and to additional ranges with timber eaves. Painted rendered, ruled and lined walls with cast-iron clock face to gable to projecting bay to east having rendered surround, and unpainted roughcast walls to additional ranges. Square-headed window openings (Venetian-style window arrangement to projecting bays) with stone sills,and replacement timber casement windows, c.1975. Square-headed door openings with replacement timber panelled doors, c.1975. Set back from road in own grounds on a corner site with random rubble stone boundary wall to perimeter.
