Lismore Castle

Detached three-bay single-storey Tudor Revival estate manager’s house with half-dormer attic, c.1880, retaining original fenestration with single-bay two-storey projecting bay to centre incorporating open porch to ground floor having jettied bay over, single-bay single-storey box bay window to side (north-east) elevation, and single-bay single-storey return to south-east. Extended, pre-1999, comprising single-bay single-storey lean-to end bay to south-west. Pitched roof (gabled to projecting bay; hipped gabled to return and lean-to to end bay) with profiled red clay tile, decorative red clay ridge tiles having terracotta finials to apexes, red brick Running bond chimney stack, decorative timber bargeboards, and cast-iron rainwater goods on exposed timber eaves. Red brick Flemish bond walls with painted rendered walls to gables having rendered detailing to jettied bay in form of Tudor-style timber framing. Square-headed window openings with timber sills, and red brick hood mouldings to ground floor. Timber casement windows (in tripartite arrangement to ground floor and to box oriel window) with 1/1 horizontal sash window to jettied bay having leaded panes. Ogee-headed openings to open porch. Square-headed door opening with timber panelled door, sidelights, and overlight. Set back from road in partitioned site in grounds shared with Lismore Castle with landscaped grounds to site, and hedge boundary to perimeter.
