Detached two-bay single-storey gate lodge with dormer storey, erected c.1835, having porch to north elevation and canted-bay window to east elevation. Lower three-bay single-storey extension to west. Pitched slate roof with gable-fronted roofs to dormer windows, and having dressed stone chimneystacks with octagonal pots. Decoratively carved timber bargeboards to gables and dormers. Rubble stone walls with square-headed two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Porch has round-headed multi-paned timebr sash windows with stone sills and brick surrounds and round-headed doorway with replacement timber door. Extension has pitched artificial slate roof and rendered walls with two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows, doubled to rear elevation. Boundary wall to front of building is rubble stone having spearhead railings. To east of gate lodge is entrance gateway to Kilshane House, comprising decorative double-leaf cast-iron vehicular and flanking pedestrian gates.
