Freestanding irregular-plan three-stage battery, built 1908, having central block, flanking basement blocks and open parapets with walkways. Now disused. Eight-bay single-storey central block comprising flat rendered roofs, red brick walls and square-headed openings. Four-bay single-storey flanking blocks comprising flat rendered roof, rendered walls, square-headed recess openings, iron railings and rendered steps. Rendered parapet and walkway giving access to four gun emplacements with iron fixings. Four rectangular- and irregular-plan single-storey pill boxes connected by trenches cut into the limestone bedrock. Pill boxes comprise flat rendered roofs, rendered walls, square-headed openings with iron shuttering and square-headed door opening.
