Kildarra House

Detached five-bay two-storey country house, built c.1860, having three-bay two-storey return to rear (west), crenellated two-storey canted bay to side (south) and lean-to addition to side (north). Currently vacant. Hipped slate roof with overhanging timber-clad rendered eaves course with rendered chimneystack and uPVC rainwater goods. Rendered crenellated parapet wall to canted bay, having rendered capping, concealed rainwater goods and cast-iron down pipe. Moulded render string course to first floor of canted bay. Slate lean-to roof to side (north) addition. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls to front and side (south) elevations and canted bay with rendered plinths, having rendered wall to rear elevation of return. Roughcast-rendered walls elsewhere with rendered platbands to corners of side (north) elevations. Exposed rubble stone walls to front (east) and side (north) elevations of lean-to addition. Square-headed window openings with rendered and limestone sills throughout, having internal timber panelled shutters and two-over-two timber sliding sash windows in single and bipartite arrangements. Replacement metal casement window to rear elevation. Stone sills, replacement render lintels and three-over-three pane timber sliding sash windows to front (east) and side (north) elevations of lean-to addition. Round-headed stairwell window opening with tooled limestone sill to rear elevation, having coloured glass margined one-over-one pane timber sliding sash window. Elliptical-headed door opening with moulded render surround and archivolt to front elevation, containing timber doorcase comprising panelled pilasters with scrolled consoles and architrave. Glazed timber door flanked by glazed timber side panels surmounted by spoked fanlight and carved timber archivolt. Square-headed door opening to canted bay, having rendered stepped approach and replacement double-leaf glazed timber doors with single-pane. Square-headed door opening to rear elevation of addition having raised render surround and glazed timber door. Crenellated rubble stone curtain wall to rear (west) of house attached to front (east) elevation of associated outbuilding. Rubble stone square-profile gate piers with wrought-iron gate to side (north) of lean-to addition. Rubble stone walls enclosing patio to rear (west) of lean-to addition. Four-bay single-storey outbuilding to west, having pitched slate roof and rubble stonewalls. Recent agricultural outbuildings to west and north-west. Rubble stone enclosing walls with e coping, string course and render coping to entrance, having square-profile rendered gate piers having rendered capping and double-leaf wrought-iron gates.
