Pinehurst — Castle Road

Semi-detached three-bay two-storey over basement house, built c.1850, with projecting eastern bay, dormer attic, projecting single-storey porch, canted bay and single-storey return to the west. Hipped slate roofs with rendered chimneystacks having bracketed cornices, timber bargeboards to dormer and projecting timber sheeted bracketed eaves with cast-iron rainwater goods. Flat roof to porch and canted bay with parapets. Smooth rendered walls with stepped plinth to basement, moulded render stringcourse at capital level to porch and piers of bay, moulded render continuous sill course to first floor which continues across the parapet of the porch and bay, raised render bands to west elevation and blind recessed panels to single-storey return. Camber-headed window openings with one-over-one timber sliding sash windows. Paired round-headed openings to first floor set in recessed smooth render square panel with one-over-one timber sliding sash windows. Round-headed opening set in projecting smooth render panel above porch with fixed six-pane timber window. Tripartite square-headed opening surmounted by dentilated pediment with scroll brackets and having limestone sill with brackets and one-over-one timber sliding sash windows. Cast-iron balconette and uPVC casement window to dormer. Stepped camber-headed door opening flanked by Tuscan pilasters with overlight and timber panelled door accessed via square-profile smooth render piers with gabled caps and smooth render balustrade to limestone steps. Rubble stone boundary wall with barrel coping, smooth render walls to entrance with square-profile piers and wrought-iron gates.
