Glenbrook House — Carrigmahon Hill

Detached two-bay two-storey over basement house, built, c.1870, having paired flat-roofed two-storey timber panelled canted bay windows to front (east) elevation. Timber-framed gable-fronted glazed porch to side (south) and lean-to extension to rear (west). Hipped slate roof with rendered chimneystack, timber clad overhanging eaves course, cast-iron and uPVC rainwater goods. Rendered walls with plinth. Tudor arch window openings with timber sills to first floor of canted bays within square-headed recesses. One-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows surmounted by timber cladding with lancet panelling. Pointed arch window openings with timber sills to ground floor of canted bays having one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows with six-pane overlights having timber tracery, surmounted by timber panelling with lancet panelling. Window openings flanked by timber colonettes running through ground and first floors. Square-headed window openings with stone sills and six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows to rear elevation. Round-headed door opening within timber doorcase to interior of porch, comprising fluted reveals and engaged clustered colonettes flanking timber panelled door with fanlight above and polychrome tiled approach. Roughcast rendered enclosing wall having limestone coping with cast-iron railings. Square-profile red brick gate piers to pedestrian entrance with limestone caps and cast-iron gate, surmounted by camber-headed arch with red brick voussoirs with limestone copings.
