Detached three-bay single-storey former gate lodge, built 1825, having recessed entrance bay and lean-to to rear (north) elevation. Now in use as tourist office. Hipped slate roof with cast-iron columns to recessed entrance. Rendered walls. Square-headed openings having limestone block-and-start surrounds with keystones, limestone sills and two-over-two pane timber casement windows. Square-headed opening having limestone block-and-start surround with keystone and timber battened door. Freestanding entrance gateway, erected 1825, comprising pedimented segmental-headed arch with date stone. Flanking lower rendered pedestrian camber-headed entrances having limestone copings. Double-leaf cast-iron gates.
