Entrance gateway, erected c. 1845, at end of avenue leading to Church of the Immaculate Conception, comprising square-profile ashlar limestone piers with pointed arch panels, moulded string courses and stepped caps, and cut stone plinths. Flanked by coursed dressed limestone walls with pedestrian entrances having castellated parapets, chamfered pointed arch openings. Decorative cast-iron gate with limestone threshold to northern entrance. Paving to front narrows road approaching vehicular archway.
