Detached gate lodge, built c. 1890, comprising central section with Tudor arched carriageway straddling entrance road, having flanking lower single-bay screen walls. Flat roof having roughcast rendered castellated parapet with blind loops and some cast-iron rainwater goods. Roofs to flanking screen walls absent, formerly pitched. Inner and outer face of gateway have lined-and-ruled rendered walling with limestone plinth, archway itself having tooled limestone quoins, string course and blind cross loops. Outer face has carved limestone plaque to parapet bearing family crest and screen walls have cut limestone name plaques. and blind Tudor-arched openings to screen walls, with tooled cut limestone sills. Archway has cut limestone block-and-start surround with raised keystone, moulded imposts, inner side of gateway having decorative double-leaf wrought-iron gates. Set in curvilinear rendered boundary walls.
